ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kay L. Ling began writing fiction in grade school, and her stories always evinced a sense of wonder and love of adventure. In one, mythical creatures lived and traveled inside a rainbow, and in another, a bored sixth-grader turned her teacher into a maroon sofa and then teleported herself to London. As an adult, Kay never lost her ability to imagine strange and wondrous peoples and places. She has published over forty short stories, and Beyond the Forest, a unique fantasy adventure, is her first novel. |
Q. Tell us about the cover of Beyond the Forest and the inspiration for it.
A. The artist did a wonderful job depicting a scene from chapter four. Lana’s adventures are just beginning!
Q. What draws you to this genre?
A. There’s something compelling about stepping into a place outside the world we know and having no idea what to expect. It’s fun to think that anything can happen.
Q. Why do you write?
A. I enjoy fantasy novels with a sense of wonder, a touch of mystery, and unusual adventures, and since there are not enough fantasy novels that fit that description, I decided to write my own. Therefore, I wrote this novel, have two more in final draft, and one nearly finished.
